Music attracts the little ones, its benefits being studied and recognized. Learning an instrument has spectacular effects on the development of the child's cognitive and emotional intelligence. But when is a good time to introduce kids to musical instruments or percussion lessons?
Children can become familiar with the name of musical instruments from the moment they learn the first words. From now on, they can be shown how to use them to produce (more or less) musical sounds. After the age of 2, they can be allowed to touch and study them - of course, while being closely monitored. If we talk about the age at which children can start classes to learn to play a certain instrument, music teachers say that the earlier the lessons start, the better the results, although the evolution will probably be slower. It takes longer for a 4-year-old to understand "how to make music" than to a 6-year-old, and it may take longer to reach the same results - but their artistic sense will develop better.
The only condition to start studying an instrument is that the child be physically able to play that instrument (for example, a 6-year-old child will not be able to play the trombone yet).
