What Drums Are Used In The Song “Little Drummer Boy

"The Little Drummer Boy” was originally known as "Carol of the Drum" and is a very popular Christmas song. It is credited as being written by Katherine Kennicott Davis, an American classical music composer and teacher, in 1941, although it seems that the lyrics are based on an old Czech carol.

The story in this carol is about a small drummer, who was right next to the magicians and guests who had come to welcome the birth of the Little King, with gifts. But the little drummer tells the Holy Baby that he is a poor boy who has no gifts for a king, but because he still wants to offer something he asks the permission to sing accompanied by his drum. The carol says that as he sang, the little drummer was also accompanied by the animals from the stable (lamb, calf) that kept the rhythm. He sang as best he could and, as a reward for his efforts, the Little King smiled at him.

Over the years, "The Little Drummer Boy” has been recorded by many artists – some of them charted with it on Billboard's charts. It was No. 1 in the winter of 2013–2014 (recorded by Pentatonix), but the most beloved version remain that recorded by David Bowie and Bing Crosby, which reached No. 3 and spent 10 weeks on the chart, in `82–`83.
