Modern Drum Kit Trends

Drum Kits Snare Drum Cymbals

The complete drum kit is a complex and very popular musical instrument. What is less known is the fact that people started making and selling the first complete acoustic drum kit in the early 1900s.

Starting with the 60s, we can talk about the advent of modern drums. In 1976, Karl Bartos invented a new type of drum – the electronic drum. His invention did not produce a quality sound at the time, but it was an idea that grew considerably in the future. The electronic drum has continued to evolve over the years, and Roland introduced its first Roland TD-10 model in 1997. It was considered the most advanced set of drums.

A modern standard drum kit includes a number of drums including snare drum, cymbals and various other instruments, according to the taste and needs of the player, or the genre of music.

Modern music genres and musical tastes affect drum and percussion market. There seems to be no longer iconic musicians that can be considered “tastemakers” in drums and percussion, but there are people who argue this affirmation and who consider that there are still many influencers out there that have something new to bring in drum playing and in the future evolution of drum kits.
