Reasons Why Every Band Needs A Great Drummer

There is no great band without a great drummer – while all the members of the band are important, it is the drummer that the other players rely on, here is how and why:

• The backbone of the band – the drummer provides the beat that all the other members of the band, all the other instruments rely on for their play. A drummer who plays out of rhythm can completely ruin the melody, but a great drummer can correct the others and lead them back to the right rhythm.  It's important to take beginner drum lessons to learn the basics;
• Responsibility – the drummer needs to be great to be able to bear the weight of the responsibility that his mistakes cannot be covered, so he is not allowed to make any;
• Adding the dynamics – while drummers are responsible for keeping time, they also set up the structure of the song, speeding it up or slowing it down, adding or taking away volume and intensity for the perfect tune;
• Expression – drums make powerful statements without which bands would not have their characteristic, signature sound. Just think about your favorite song, then imagine it without the drums – the difference is probably huge and not really to the benefit of the song.
