Lesser Known Careers for Musicians – What Path Should You Take?

What Career Path Can Muscians Take

Tired of trying to make it as a recording artist? Want to start a new career that will let you make a great deal of money without exposing yourself to the scrutiny of fans and critics? As a musician, you might think your choices are limited, but these unique careers will probably change your mind:

  • Record studio owners or record store owners are often musicians who prefer the business side of the music industry. They are responsible for discovering records and aspiring musicians who can sometimes change the face of the entire industry in just a few months.
  • Musicians can also become voice actors. As it was the case with Beatles drummer, Sir Ringo Starr when he voiced the first few seasons of the now famous kids’ show, Thomas the Tank Engine, so drum classes for kids can lead to a great future.
  • An interesting career for a musician is to become a technician at an entertainment studio. If you like the idea of making movies, this is a great choice, since it’ll be your responsibility to deal with special sound effects and voice modifications that could set the tone to an entire movie production.
  • Another great career choice is brainwave entrainment. Although, theoretically, this field can still be closely related to music, since the job of a musician here is to come up with music based on tones that alter brainwaves (such as binaural and isochronic tones), this unique career path is not something that most musicians would choose.
